WHAT WE DO
Since 2021, we have developed an innovative learning programme which brings education back to its true human experience and nurtures polymathic potential.
Our methods not only take from the existing principles of Forest School, Democratic Schooling, and the vision of Rabindranath Tagore, but are imbued with the knowledge and breadth of experience of our excellent educators and their expertise in working with children from diverse backgrounds and diverse abilities.
Our Mission
In this fast changing world, our mission is to realign education with the natural curiosity, instincts and abilities of the learner. The way that education has been structured in the past has met the needs of industry; it is now time to meet the needs of the child. Now, as we are evolving, it is vital that independent thought, creativity and innovation is brought back to humanity and that we as an advancing society nurture future generations to fully realise their complete human expression.
“Study the science of art and the art of science.”
-Leonardo da Vinci
Our Methods
We have created an inductive teaching method that balances structure, freedom and deep learning. With set rituals at the beginning and end of each day, the children start and finish their learning journey with meditation, movement and reflection. The daily experience comprises of workshops, teaching and learning salons, Forest School, nature walks, tending the food garden, freedom to play and explore, personally selected learning projects and both independent and group activities. Our focus is on enabling the children to synthesise subjects, find solutions to problems in integrative and creative ways and to express their artistry.
Principles of an Informal Group
In Italy, our legal status is as a Gruppo Informale (Parentale). Our legal eagle, Francesco Bernabei, explains:
Definition, Constitution, Management
The Informal Group is a simple aggregation of subjects who decide to follow up on one or more activities, limiting themselves to basic organizational agreements and sharing of expenses. Technically it is a non-commercial entity without legal personality, in the sense that it could not even obtain it, lacking all the adequate constitutive characteristics such as a real deed of incorporation and a statute that allows to regulate the activities, and of a private nature that has as the sole objective is the pursuit of the practical management of activities relating to a common interest to the members.
